Embrace Aging - Spotlight on Growing Old

Embrace Aging is a month-long series of events in March 2006 that will demonstrate in a variety of ways the positive aspects of aging. Spearheaded by the Greater Victoria Eldercare Foundation, this initiative is gaining momentum and sparking community involvement at every possible level.

Senior Living magazine will kick off the month with a Senior Celebration Festival at the Cedar Hill Rec Centre on March 3rd. Fun, interactive and inspirational, this day-long event will showcase the many talents and achievements of our senior community.

An art exhibit by Vermont fabric artist Dierdre Scherer at the Maltwood Art Museum and Gallery at UVIC is another key event, communicating in visuals and texture the complexity and richness of relationships in our senior years.

These and other events planned for the month of March, including our Elder-Friendly City Project, will be highlighted at the Embrace Aging Community Launch on October 28, 2005.
